El desierto de Sahara, uno de los lugares más áridos del mundo, reportó su primera inundación en décadas. Un funcionario de la Agencia Meteorológica de Marruecos le dijo a la agencia Associated Press que hacía entre 30 y 50 años que no llovía tanto en tan poco tiempo. El desierto del Sahara, aunque suele experimentar lluvias, son solo unos pocos centímetros al año y rara vez a fines del verano boreal. Pero esta vez, en tan solo dos días de septiembre cayó una lluvia intensa.
