El fiscal general de Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, dijo en conferencia que 749 personas fueron detenidas en las protestas tras el anuncio de los resultados electorales. El fiscal justificó los arrestos diciendo que las personas estaban rompiendo las leyes y cometiendo delitos. Además, William Saab dijo que 48 funcionarios, entre militares y policías, resultaron heridos durante las manifestaciones.
