El presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, aseguró que el candidato presidencial de la oposición Edmundo González Urrutia es el responsable de "la violencia criminal y la destrucción", haciendo referencia a las movilizaciones ciudadanas. Las protestas estallaron en el país un día después de que el Consejo Nacional Electoral anunciara la victoria de Maduro sin presentar las actas electorales.
