Este año, en el que ha coincidido con la pandemia de covid-19 y el confinamiento, la compañía japonesa Nintendo han celebrado los 35 años de Mario Bros con nuevos juegos, como "Paper Mario", o el relanzamiento de consolas retro, como "Game & Watch". Estos eventos han aportado ganancias a la industria.
