Carlos Joaquín González, Gobernador de Quintana Roo, México, conversó con Rey Rodríguez sobre la violencia que se ha generado en el Estado. El turismo en el Caribe mexicano ha sido afectado por balaceras y enfrentamientos entre narcomenudistas. González dijo a CNN que grupos del narcotráfico provenientes de Jalisco, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Veracruz, Guerrero están reagrupando el narcomenudeo que su gobierno se ha encargado de limpiar. Agregó que habría la posibilidad de que grupos del Cártel de Sinaloa estarían interesados en apoderarse de la zona.
